Boy, 12, arrested after teen 'stabbed in the back' in Arnold

A 12-year-old boy has been arrested after a teenager was stabbed in the back during a fight in a Nottinghamshire town, police said. A 17-year-old boy was taken to hospital after the incident in Willbert Road, Arnold, at around 9.15pm on Friday June 14.

Nottinghamshire Police said his injury is not currently believed to be life-threatening or life-altering. Police arrested a 12-year-old boy in connection with the attack.



He was arrested on suspicion of intentional injury. Police said they were still searching for another suspect and had stepped up patrols.

Businesses in the area told Nottinghamshire Live that a cordon remained in place on Saturday morning, including on the pavement next to Spar on Coppice Road.

Detective Sergeant Nathan Bingham said: “I would like to reassure members of the public that we are treating this as an isolated incident and reassurance patrols have been increased in the area as we continue to establish the facts about this that happened. Our investigations continue to locate an outstanding suspect linked to this incident and officers remain in the area to reassure the public.

Anyone with information, including anyone who may have recorded CCTV, dashcam or doorbell camera footage, is asked to call Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 685 of June 14 2024, or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
