Bourne Avenue Hayes: Teenager stabbed to death named and photographed

Police were called to a stabbing in Bourne Avenue, Hayes at around 1.30pm on Friday May 24.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

His next of kin have been informed and police have now confirmed that he is Kamari Johnson.

Kamari's family continues to receive support from the police.

On the evening of Saturday, May 25, a 17-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in custody.

Detective Chief Inspector Alex Gammampila, of the Met's specialist crime unit, is leading the investigation and said: “Kamari's murder has understandably caused shock and concern within the local community.

“A team of experienced detectives are working around the clock to establish what happened to Kamari and why he was attacked.

“Tonight’s arrest demonstrates the progress we are making and much of that is due to the help we have received from the community.

“We must work together to ensure Kamari’s family gets the answers they deserve about what happened to her.”

“I would urge people not to speculate about this incident, but to come forward and speak to us if you have any information that could help the investigation.

“I am particularly keen to hear from residents who may have captured footage on doorbells or dash cams – please check your cameras to see if there is anything relevant on them and, if it is If so, contact us.”

Anyone with footage or images that could help the investigation can upload it directly to police via the Operation Brownlow online portal.
