Boston police arrest suspect for trafficking fentanyl and cocaine

BOSTON — At approximately 8:56 a.m. on Thursday, June 20, officers assigned to District D-4 (South End) arrested Kayla Fain, 34, of Boston, on drug charges.

Officers were in the area of ​​Massachusetts Avenue and Albany Street to respond to ongoing community complaints regarding individuals consuming drugs and alcohol in public.

Officers' attention was drawn to a woman walking back and forth in the area, continually huddling with different groups of people.

Officers saw the individual walk away from the group with another woman and use an electrical box to protect himself.

The officers got out of their car and approached the women, and one of them immediately placed a plastic bag in her waistband.

Officers removed the plastic bag and found it contained illegal drugs.

Officers began searching the suspect and recovered several plastic bags from the suspect.

The plastic bags were later determined to contain 13 grams of fentanyl and 25 grams of cocaine.

Officers also recovered US$217.

Fain was placed under arrest and charged with Class A Trafficking and Class B Trafficking.

She is expected to be arraigned in Boston Municipal Court.
