Boone County Fire Releases Photos of Severe Weather Cleanup | Mid-Missouri News

The Boone County Fire Protection District shared photos Saturday of storm cleanup efforts Thursday evening.

Dispatchers received more than 15 calls for service as severe weather conditions moved across northern Boone County, according to the Boone County Fire Department.

No injuries were reported and the Boone County Fire Department dispatched six engines, two tankers, a squad and two brush trucks with a total of 33 firefighters.

Firefighters cleared debris from roadways, inspected damaged structures and assessed vehicles for hazards or injured occupants for several hours. They coordinated with Boone County Joint Communications and local utility companies to make addressing immediate safety hazards their top priority, especially as citizens began assessing the damage in the area, according to Boone County Fire Department.

Severe storms Thursday evening triggered tornado warnings in northern Boone County and damaged homes and vehicles in Hallsville and Higbee.
