Bonney Lake shooting leaves one dead, another injured

The Pierce County Sheriff's Department said the suspect and one of the victims were roommates and had an argument before the shooting.

BONNEY LAKE, Wash. — One person died and another was injured when a shooting broke out during an argument between roommates Saturday night, according to the Pierce County Sheriff's Department.

The Pierce County Sheriff's Department said deputies responded to a report of a shooting at 7:20 p.m. at a residence in the 11100 block of 166th Avenue E in Bonney Lake. The caller told 911 there was a deceased person in the house.

The police were reportedly alerted by one of the victims, a 22-year-old man, as they arrived at the scene. Inside the residence, officers found a 23-year-old man with several gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers arrested the 22-year-old suspect at the scene before he was taken to hospital for a graze wound. The Pierce County Sheriff's Department said once the suspect is medically cleared, he will be booked into the Pierce County Jail as part of a second-degree murder investigation.

The Pierce County Sheriff's Department said the suspect and the 23-year-old victim were roommates and had an argument before the shooting. The victim, aged 22, did not live at the residence and suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
