Body of missing northwest Arkansas kayaker found | KSNF/KODE

BELLA VISTA, Ark. — A multi-agency search, including teams from McDonald County, leads to the body of a missing Arkansas kayaker.

Bella Vista police said the body of Christopher Jaglin, 59, was found Tuesday north of the Sugar Creek Center in Bella Vista. He was last seen alive on camera Sunday, just south of where his body was found. An extensive search to find him began Monday when he was reported missing, involving ground, drone and ATV efforts, with assistance from the White Rock Fire Department in McDonald County.

“Very healthy, very intelligent. And, you know, he taught school, drove a bus. We asked about his health, etc., and she said he was very healthy and an athletic type,” said Gregg Sweeten, County Emergency Management Director. McDonalds.

Sweeten adds that the Missouri State Highway Patrol also had a drone in the air near Pineville, assisting in the search alongside several entities in Benton County, Arkansas.

The U.S. Geological Survey reports that Little Sugar Creek, near Pineville, just 14 miles away, was in a minor flood stage, near 13.5 feet Sunday, around the time Jaglin was seen alive for the last time.

The investigation has now been turned over to the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission.
