Body of missing Laurens County man found, sheriff's office says

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – A body believed to be that of a missing Laurens County man has been found, according to the sheriff's office.

The Laurens County Sheriff's Office said Sunday that a body found in Butts County is believed to be that of 82-year-old Garland Sims Warren.

Warren was reported missing on June 10.

A spokesperson for the Laurens County Sheriff's Office said their deputies were at the scene where the body was found, along with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, the Butts County Sheriff's Office and the county sheriff's office of Spalding.

The spokesman did not provide further details on the circumstances of the discovery of the body.

“We have no additional information at this time,” the spokesperson said. “This is still an active, ongoing investigation. I ask you all to keep the Warren family in your prayers.

On Thursday, the Spalding County Sheriff's Office said a dog belonging to Warren had been found.

Two people, Robert Peppers, 62, and Kelly Osborn, 56, had already been arrested for questioning in Warren's disappearance, according to the Spalding County Sheriff's Office.
