Body of man found by hiker in Shadow Hills area identified

The body of a 50-year-old man found by a hiker in the Tujunga Wash flood control channel in the Shadow Hills area was identified Friday by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner.

The body was discovered around 8:30 a.m. Thursday and firefighters and police were dispatched to the scene, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

The medical examiner identified the body as that of Jorge Vasquez. The cause of his death remains undetermined.
