Body found near where fisherman went missing in San Joaquin County, sheriff says

A person's body was found Saturday near where a fisherman was reported missing in Lathrop last month, the San Joaquin County Sheriff's Office said. The sheriff's office confirmed that a water safety unit recovered the body around 4:30 p.m. in the San Joaquin River. (Previous coverage in the video above.) The sheriff's office could not identify the body and asked to check with the medical examiner's office. KCRA 3 reached out. KCRA 3 received a message from the wife of Juan Heredia, a diver who searches for missing people. She said Hereida was the person who located the body. On May 23, a boat with two fishermen on board capsized in the river near Loop River Road, between Caraval Court and Richardson Road. The sheriff's office was unable to identify the body and asked to check with the medical examiner's office. KCRA 3 reached out.

KCRA 3 received a message from the wife of Juan Heredia, a diver who searches for missing people. She said Hereida was the person who located the body.
