Body found in the woods identified. Lexington resident missing since last month

The Lexington County Coroner's Office has identified a missing person found dead in the woods Thursday.

Joseph Matthew Kosmos, 37, of Lexington, was reported missing in May. Her body was discovered by a 911 caller in the Roundtree Court area near Gaston. The coroner's office identified the body Friday and scheduled an autopsy for next week.

The Coroner's Office and the Lexington County Sheriff's Department are investigating.

No further information was immediately available, but the coroner's office offered its condolences to Kosmos' family and friends.
