Body found in Easter Lake identified as that of a 29-year-old man

DES MOINES, Iowa — A body found Thursday in Easter Lake has been identified as that of a 29-year-old man.

At approximately 2:08 p.m., the Des Moines Police Department responded to a report of a body in the water near Easter Lake Beach. With the help of the Des Moines Fire Department, the body was found.

On Friday, police identified the body of 29-year-old Abwe Etabo.

Police said there were no obvious signs of criminal activity that could have contributed to Etabo's death. The cause of death is not yet known.

The investigation into Etabo's death is ongoing.
