Body found in Arkansas River near La Junta identified

(OTERO COUNTY, Colo.) — The Otero County coroner has confirmed that the body pulled from the Arkansas River near La Junta on June 18 belongs to Devlin Cambeul, 19, who was reported missing after entering the water on the morning of June 18. June 12.

According to the Otero County Sheriff's Office (OCSO), their office was informed Wednesday afternoon, June 26, by the Otero County Coroner that the body had been positively identified as that of Devlin Cambeul.


OCSO said the identification was verified by the El Paso County coroner based on two sets of dental records.

The final cause of death will be released with the final autopsy report, which OCSO says is expected in 12 to 14 weeks.
