Body found along Missouri River identified as Chase Hurdle

BISMARCK, N.D. (KXNET) — The Burleigh County Sheriff's Office found Chase Hurdle along the banks of the Missouri River.

According to a press release, Hurdle has been missing since November 2021 and was found on Sunday, June 9 shortly before 3 p.m.


Deputies responded to the area south of Sibley Park for a body found hanging from a tree. They were able to remove the body and bring it ashore for an autopsy.

An autopsy was performed on June 11 and determined the remains to be those of Hurdle.

Partial pants, a shirt, glasses, a shoe and dental records were used to identify him.

Chase Hurdle was reported missing on November 3, 2021. He was 18 years old at the time and was last seen on video at 8:54 a.m. leaving school.

Its last known location was at 9:45 a.m. on November 2, near the Memorial Bridge in Bismarck. We think he was on foot.

Since his disappearance, numerous public appeals from his family and several coordinated searches have been carried out to try to find the missing young man.
