Bodies found in search of father and son missing after hiking in Scottish Highlands

Police searching for a father and son who went missing after hiking in the Scottish Highlands have found two bodies.

Tom Parry, 49, and his son Richie were due to return home to Cheshire on Wednesday after visiting Glen Nevis and Glencoe.

Their car was found in the Three Sisters parking lot in Glencoe where they stopped Tuesday to go hiking.

Police said two bodies were found during a search in Glencoe on Wednesday evening.

They have not yet been formally identified, but the family of Mr Parry and his son have been informed.

Police said investigations were ongoing but there were no apparent suspicious circumstances.

Inspector Craig Johnstone of Police Scotland Aid: “Our thoughts are with everyone involved. I would like to thank all the emergency services and mountain rescue volunteers.

Police said a report would be submitted to the procurator fiscal in due course.

St Mary's Church in Alsager said its prayers were with the Parry family, friends and neighbors after what is described as “shocking and devastating news”.

In a social media post, the church said: “St Mary's Church will continue to be open, as it is every day, to anyone who wishes to come in and peacefully hold Tom, Richie and all their family in their thoughts and prayers. »
