Blount County, Tennessee firefighters battle structure fire near Wears Valley Road

BLOUNT COUNTY, Tenn. (WATE) — Early Saturday morning, Blount County firefighters and sheriff's deputies were called to a brush fire in the area of ​​Wears Valley Road and discovered a structure fire.

According to the Townsend Area Volunteer Fire Department, their crews were dispatched to the fire around 4:10 a.m. Saturday morning for a brush fire.


When the Blount County Sheriff's Office arrived on scene, they discovered it was in fact a fully involved structure fire, the VFD said.

The Townsend Area Volunteer Fire Department reports the fire has been brought under control, but the foundation will continue to smolder for a few days.
