Bloomington man faces new weapons charges

BLOOMINGTON — One of two Bloomington men currently in custody on murder charges in the November 2023 death of Jamere Bew is facing new weapons-related charges.

Justin G. Kletz, 26, was seen in court Thursday afternoon before Judge William Yoder for an initial hearing on his new charges.

MCLEAN COUNTY JAIL

He is charged with three counts of unlawful possession of a weapon, class 1 misdemeanors.

Kletz and his co-defendant Derek P. Siebring, 18, are each charged with six counts of first-degree murder, one count of aggravated kidnapping and three counts of aggravated battery causing great bodily injury, with a deadly weapon and involving strangulation.

Although Kletz was already in custody in the 2023 case, he could still be detained in this new case. Assistant State's Attorney David Fitt has not filed a detention motion in this case due to Kletz's current custody status.
