Gameplay

  • The expiration time of activated boosters has been changed so that their lifespan is only counted during the match, when you are actually playing, rather than all the time, like when you are folding laundry or something.
  • The XP threshold has been lowered for each Battle Pass tier to give Battle Pass progression a bit more oomph.
  • Optimized Match Bonus: MVP and Victory title XP rewards have been reduced from 2,000 to 1,000 XP. Draw has been increased from 1,000 to 500. Points completed have been doubled from 2,000 to 4,000, to encourage players to stay focused on their goal.
  • I responded to a community request to add a portrait icon to the Killfeed, as it feels good to have it.

Factions

  • Added the GSK faction and their pragmatic announcer: HQ.
    • These elite operators from the German Border Protection Command’s Rainbow Team specialize in crowd control and securing territory. They can deploy electrified barbed wire to deny access to an area, counter incoming enemy devices with their Active Defense System, and dazzle multiple enemies with flash charges mounted on their G52 Ultra Tactical Shield. Call them Grenzschutzkommando because it’s fun and also accurate.
  • Echelon Intel Suit cooldown increased from 30 to 40 seconds.
  • The cooldown of the Ghosts' Magnetic Barrier has been adjusted from 30 to 40 seconds. The Magnetic Barrier's health has also been reduced from 500 to 400.
  • Phantoms' AEGIS now takes damage from EMP grenades (throw six to disable it).
  • DedSec Hijack's cooldown is reduced from 28 seconds (plus remaining duration of hacked skill) to 20 seconds (plus remaining duration of hacked skill).
    • For example, let's say a magnetic barrier has 7 seconds left and it is hacked: the cooldown increases to 20 plus 7 seconds. The cooldown of a failed hijack, on the other hand, decreases from 8 seconds to 5 seconds.
  • DedSec's Spiderbot cooldown has been increased from 25 to 40 seconds.
  • Spiderbot's behavior has been adjusted so that multiple Spiderbots will not attempt to hug the same face, and will not continue to ignore faces they have hugged multiple times recently. Some give and receive from the Spiderbot realm.
  • Libertad's BioVida boost cooldown has been reduced from 25 to 20 seconds.
  • Fixed Libertad's Medico Supremo so that he no longer disappears after the deployed player respawns as a different faction.

Plans

  • Added the new Clubhouse map, a two-story hangout popular with international operators. Ideal for short- and medium-range firefights. It is home to the Domination, Occupy, Hot Shot, and new CTF game modes.

Game Modes

  • Added Capture the Flag, hereinafter referred to as CTF. For the uninitiated: you retrieve the enemy's flag from their base and bring it back to yours, while protecting your team's flag. CTF is available on many maps.

Weapons

  • Improved the jump penalty incurred when firing with a Sniper Rifle equipped. These changes aim to refine jump behavior, prevent cases where the camera moves off target on the first shot and back on target on the second, and improve the experience for players who are sensitive to uncontrollable camera movements. Here are the details:
    • Camera transition speed to hit flinch has been increased by 25 percent.
    • The camera will now always move up rather than randomly moving up or down.
    • The amount of camera movement left or right has been increased by 3 times.
  • Added the L115 Sniper Rifle, which is not as heavy as the TAC-50 and offers faster maneuverability, although it deals slightly less damage and is not as effective at penetrating cover.
  • Added the LVOA-C, a sleek custom rifle similar to the M4A1. It has a much faster rate of fire than the M4A1, but this means more recoil and less range. It also has slightly longer reload and equip times.
  • Added the Sawed Off secondary weapon. This short-range version of the double-barreled shotgun features a large barrel for its size. Imagine carrying a primary weapon in your secondary slot and that's it.
  • Added new Mastery skins: Titanium Violet (unlocked at weapon level 300), Titanium Azure (unlocked at 350), and Titanium Prisma (unlocked at 400).
  • Fixed weapons and optics shake in first person view when using ADS.

Devices

  • Added a new, improved visual effect for the flash grenade (replacing the previous effect, which was… intense). The new effect is less irritating to the retina, but still sufficiently disorienting.
  • Fixed an exploit where players could respawn with multiple devices after changing the “Copy Config” option in the lobby, so good try.

Social

  • Added the Creator Code program, which allows players to choose a creator to receive commissions on their XCoin purchases at no additional cost. Choose “Support a Creator” in the store to see a list of eligible creators.
  • Players could party up with enemy players and voice chat during matches despite being on opposing teams, which seemed fishy, so this is fixed.
  • Disabled whispers in text chat.

the audio

  • I tweaked the mix of voices and game sound effects for more volume and clarity.

Miscellaneous

  • Players who participated in the closed beta were supposed to keep Kersey's Dungaree skin. They didn't, but now they will.
  • Fixed challenge tracking issues with Ubisoft Connect.
  • Various graphic and audio fixes.
  • Additional crash fixes.

This concludes the XDefiant Season 1 patch notes.
