According to the outlet, on Tuesday, June 4, Chanaaz Mangroe filed a lawsuit in California federal court against the prolific songwriter for making false promises and trapping her in an “abusive, violent and manipulative relationship.” filled with physical assaults, violent sexual encounters, and horrific psychological manipulation.

The complaint against the 46-year-old musician reportedly said he exploited his then-girlfriend with false assurances, including sponsoring the extension of her international visa. He also promised Mangroe that he would write her hit songs and offer her a slot as the opening act on Beyoncé's next tour.

According to the allegations, Gesteelde-Diamant isolated her in a hotel and controlled where she went. According to the outlet, the complaint also mentioned “violent sexual acts” during the duration of their relationship.

In 2015, when the duo reunited, the songwriter took Mangroe to Atlanta. During one incident, Gesteelde-Diamant allegedly locked her in a dark room adjacent to the recording studio and had violent sex with her. He then left Mangroe naked and alone in that dark room for hours and returned to have sex with her. He asked her to say she loved him, according to reports.

Mangroe, in the complaint, alleged that she was forced by her then-boyfriend to perform sexual acts in numerous states with different men. One example of the allegation was that Gesteelde-Diamant asked her to “perform oral sex on him while” other men watched in a movie theater. According to the publication, the report also mentions numerous cases of rape and physical violence.

The-Dream accused of not supporting Chanaaz Mangroe's career

According to the media article, the complaint indicated that Conta Paris and Epic Records, the musician's labels, allegedly facilitated his crimes when Mangroe signed with these labels, “despite the fact that he never intended to truly support his career trajectory, but instead wanted corporate funding to help him in his trafficking business.

At the end of Mangroe's contract with the label, the 46-year-old musician reportedly received $150,000, and Mangroe received $35,000. In 2016, Epic Records told him that Gesteelde-Diamant had failed to deliver his records, resulting in the label not distributing his music.

The-Dream's reaction to the alleged crimes

According to the report, Gesteelde-Diamant made a statement to the New York Times. He claimed the allegations were false and defamatory against him.
