Beverly police charge man with cocaine trafficking

BEVERLY — Chief John G. LeLacheur reports the Beverly Police Department has arrested and charged a Beverly man with cocaine trafficking.

DAVID DAVIS, 58, OF BEVERLYwas arrested and charged with:

  • Cocaine trafficking (over 100 grams)

On Wednesday, June 26, as a result of an ongoing investigation, members of the Beverly Police Department's Drug Enforcement Unit executed a search warrant at Beverly's home. DAVISwith the help of Salem police.

When searching for DAVIS“At the home and vehicle, police found approximately 119 grams of cocaine in baggies of varying sizes, a digital scale and $1,033 in cash.

A Beverly police detective was bitten by a dog while conducting a search. The detective was taken to Beverly Hospital for treatment of his arm injuries.

DAVIS was taken into custody on the spot.

DAVIS was arraigned Thursday in Salem District Court and pleaded not guilty.

All suspects and accused are considered innocent until proven guilty.
