Bella Vista Fire Station 1 entrance closes for construction in remodeling project | The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

BELLA VISTA — The entrance to Fire Station 1 at Bella Vista Town Center is closed for the foreseeable future due to ongoing construction as part of a remodeling project.

“If someone needs something during business hours, we encourage them to call the station first and see if what they need can be addressed over the phone or if we can send someone out to assist, like if they need help changing batteries in their smoke detectors ,” said Cassi Lapp, city communications director.

She said if residents need to visit the fire station in person, they should call first so staff can expect them and keep watch to let them in. The station's main phone number is (479) 855-8249.

“In addition, if someone shows up at the station after hours with an emergency, they should either dial 911 from their phone or pick up the phone in the red box in front of the ambulance bays,” Lapp said. “This phone will ring directly to dispatch and is for emergencies only.”

The former two-story police building adjacent to the fire station is being remodeled to house on-duty firefighters in the new Central Fire Station.

The project also involves construction of a two-story addition that will create more than 6,600 square feet of office space that will be used by fire administration on the top floor and city administration, including Community Development Services, on the bottom floor.

Parking remains available at the city administration building.

The City Council approved on April 22 a contract amendment with Clinard Construction Management for the project, bringing the total cost for the work to $6.3 million.
