Bedford Heights driver arrested with meth: North Royalton police blotter

NORTH OF ROYALTON, Ohio

Methamphetamine arrest, Royalton Road: On May 2, police observed a black Chevrolet Blazer without a rear license plate light traveling on Royalton Road.

The officer also said a broken tail light had red ribbons on it, but not enough to cover the white light.

The Bedford Heights driver did not have a license. It turned out he had a suspended license.

During a search of the Chevrolet, police found a bag of methamphetamine in the man's pocket.

He was arrested for drug abuse. He was also cited for driving with a suspended license, failure to wear a seat belt and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Drunk Driving, Walnut Hill Drive: On May 2, police were dispatched to Walnut Hill Drive for a report of an impaired driver.

The caller said the man was not licensed to drive, but was leaving in a yellow vehicle.

An arriving officer spotted the man, who was sitting in his vehicle near the dumpster of an apartment complex.

The vehicle was parked but the engine was running. The man implied he was “just taking out the trash.”

He also smelled of alcohol. When asked if he had anything to drink, the man replied “just earlier this morning.”

After failing a field sobriety test, during which he lost his balance, tripped and nearly fell, the man was arrested for drunk driving.

He was also cited for having a suspended license.

Since the owner of the vehicle was the man's mother, she was cited for improper warrant.
