BCPS teacher arrested for alleged sexual abuse of minor

RANDALLSTOWN, MD — A Baltimore County Public Schools teacher has been arrested for sexually abusing a minor.

Baltimore County Police Department detectives arrested 38-year-old Carlos Arroyo. The Randallstown High School teacher has been charged with two felonies, including sexual abuse of a minor and a third-degree sexual offense.

Additionally, Arroyo faces two misdemeanor charges. Authorities were informed of the sexual assault in late April. Over the next several weeks, detectives conducted interviews and gathered evidence, ultimately leading to Arroyo's arrest on Friday.

Arroyo is currently being held without bail at the Baltimore County Detention Center. A bail review hearing is scheduled for Monday, June 24, 2024 at 1 p.m.
