BCA asks for public's help in locating missing teen at hospital

Haroon Aymen Misawi left the hospital around 10 p.m. Wednesday while in the custody of Ramsey County Child Protective Services.

ST PAUL, Minn. — A 14-year-old boy receiving treatment at Children's Minnesota in St. Paul wandered off on his own Wednesday evening, prompting a public appeal from the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension.

According to a statement from the BCA Thursday, Haroon Aymen Misawi left the hospital around 10 p.m. while in the custody of Ramsey County Child Protective Services. Authorities said he was last seen walking from the facility toward Walnut/West 7th Streets, wearing a green polo shirt, dark khaki shorts and brown sandals.

The BCA said Misawi is 5'11 and 150 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair. Authorities said Misawi, who lives with autism, is considered endangered and it is unclear where he might go due to “recent family issues.”

If you have seen Misawi or have any information on his whereabouts, you are asked to call 911 or the St. Paul Police Department at 651-291-1111.
