Broad Channel has a brand new brunch spot.

Last Friday, June 29, BC Brunch welcomed customers for the first time as part of the store's soft opening.

Located at 621 West Road, BC Brunch is owned by John Brown and Mike Brown, two brothers from Howard Beach. The Brown brothers also own My Mother's Place 2, the Italian ice cream shop that opened last summer at 921 Cross Bay Blvd.

The BC Brunch boutique was most recently home to Scott's Corner, a local cafe, before changing hands to the current owners.

Currently, the new store operates as a drive-up location with a menu that includes sausage and egg sandwiches in the morning and grilled cheese or hamburgers, among other items, for lunch. The owners hope to have a grand opening in about two weeks, once indoor seating is fully completed.

“We’ve been at this for a while,” BC Brunch employee Marshall Barnes told The Wave. “We wanted to bring something new,” he continued. “We’re trying to do our own thing.”

When asked for his brunch menu recommendations in B.C., Barnes quickly responded: “The Philly Cheesesteak,” which is served with the customer’s choice of cheese, onions and sauce and has already received positive reviews from diners.

Other items that might catch your eye include the Broad Channel BLT, the Spicy Dog, or the Hero Burger, which features two chopped patties on a hero with cheese and pickles.

The new store is open from 6am to 3:30pm Monday through Friday and from 8am to 3:30pm Saturday and Sunday.

“We offer breakfast and lunch,” Barnes added. “So if you’re looking for something quick, good and delicious, come see us.”
