Northwest Iowa man injured in Friday morning shooting

The Ida County Sheriff's Office is investigating a shooting that sent a Battle Creek man to the hospital Friday morning. According to a news release from the sheriff's office, shots fired were reported in the 300 block of Fifth Street in Battle Creek around 11:15 a.m. Friday. When deputies arrived, they found Kevin Lee Blume, 53, suffering from a single gunshot wound. Blume was flown to Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City. The press release does not indicate his condition.
