Baton Rouge man admits to having 50 files of child pornography, sheriff's office says

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — The East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office has arrested a man accused of child pornography and animal sexual abuse.

Darwin Alexander Torres Orellana, 43, of Baton Rouge, was arrested Tuesday after being charged with 50 counts of pornography involving a minor and five counts of sexual abuse of an animal.


According to an arrest warrant, on April 29, detectives were notified of a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children regarding files containing child sexual abuse material.

On March 24, Google reported an account that had uploaded child pornography. In the information reported, the account was using AT&T services, according to arrest documents.

Arrest documents state that after reviewing the files, detectives learned the files contained photos of minors touching each other.

On April 29, detectives requested a subpoena for the AT&T accounts and associated IP address. On April 30, detectives received information from a search warrant for the Google account. In the account, detectives found a file containing 52 videos of child sexual abuse and 900 photos of various people, according to the arrest warrant.

On May 12, the subpoena was returned for the AT&T account and IP address that led detectives to an address. On June 18, detectives and East Baton Rouge SWAT served a search warrant at the home where Orellana was found. During the search, detectives found bestiality files on one of Orellana's alleged digital devices, the sheriff's office said.

Orellana admitted to having 50 files of child sexual abuse material on his cell phone.
