Bannon warns that Trump will be sentenced to “several years in prison”, despite experts' opinions to the contrary.

Former Trump adviser Steve Bannon says former President Donald Trump will be sentenced to “several years in prison” at his secret trial in Manhattan.

In a speech at the Turning Point USA conference in Detroit, Bannon criticized the prosecution of the former president and predicted, with certainty, that Trump would be sentenced to years in prison on July 11.

“They transformed the legal system. They've transformed the legal system, whether it's bankruptcy, taking away someone's license to practice law, or taking out the banks, and they've had the greatest president of this nation at the helm ever since. Abraham Lincoln, and they're, they're about to actually, you know… on July 11th, they're going to sentence him to several years in prison. You understand that, don't you? » Bannon said.

“You understand what they’re doing in New York. And then they're going to limit, they're going to limit how he can travel,” he continued. “Now this is going to be supervised by the court. Why is that? To steal the election. To steal the election. Under no circumstances can they let the Trump administration regain power. They can't let MAGA run the country. They don't care about this election. They don't care how many votes we get. They will fight us every step of the way.

He then urged the public to fight for Trump and promised that the Trump administration would completely get rid of the FBI, which he called “America's Gestapo.”

Bannon said the FBI headquarters should be torn down and the earth salted on it, like the Romans did to Carthage.

Others are divided on whether or not Trump will receive prison time. ABC News asked 14 lawyers and law professors about the likelihood: five said it was likely, two said it was uncertain, and seven said it was unlikely due to logistical concerns, lack of precedent of imprisonment of first-time offenders and the political ramifications of such a sentence. .

Most agreed he would not face prison time before the November election.
