Baby Reindeer Suspected Real-Life Stalker Files Lawsuit Against Netflix

Fiona Harvey take legal action.

The 58-year-old who claimed to be the real woman behind the alleged stalker in the hit Netflix series Baby reindeerwhich claims to be a true story from the creator Richard Gadd– filed a lawsuit against the streaming platform for a total amount of $170 million.

As seen in the costume obtained by E! News, Harvey accuses Netflix of defamation, intentional infliction of emotional distress, negligence, gross negligence and violations of the right of publicity.

Citing the show's claim to be a true story – as written in the first episode – Harvey's filing reads: “The above quote from the first episode of the Netflix series, Baby Reindeer, is the most great lie in the history of television.”

“This is a lie told by Netflix and the creator of the series, Richard Gadd, out of greed and thirst for fame,” he continues. “A lie designed to attract more viewers, attract more attention, make more money and brutally destroy the life of the plaintiff, Fiona Harvey – an innocent woman defamed by Netflix and Richard Gadd on a magnitude and scale without previous.”

In addition to the pilot note “This is a true story”, the credits for each episode contain the following text: “This program is based on true events: however, certain characters, names, incidents, locations and dialogue have been fictionalized to dramatic endings.
