Auto Club Group says summer is one of 100 deadliest days for teen drivers

AAA issued a press release stating that seven lives are lost every day in road accidents involving teenagers during the summer monthsdubbing the season the “100 Deadliest Days of Summer.”

“Now that school is out, these young, inexperienced drivers will spend more time on the road with their friends,” AAA spokesman Mark Jenkins said in the release. “The risk increases for teen drivers and everyone else they share the road with. »

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), nearly 6,700 people were killed during the “Deadliest 100 Days” between 2013 and 2022.

“In 2022 alone, 707 people were killed in these types of accidents, an increase of 10% compared to 2019 before the pandemic,” AAA said in the release.
