Authorities Still Searching for Missing Arizona Teen Jarrett Brooks One Year Later

JOSEPH CITY, AZ — The Navajo County Sheriff's Office is marking the one-year anniversary of the disappearance of 16-year-old Jarrett Brooks.

Brooks was 16 when his mother reported him missing on July 4, 2023, in Joseph City. He reportedly left home early that morning.

Jarrett Brooks – 16 years old – Last seen July 4, 2023 – Missing from Joseph City, Arizona – Authorities say he left his home on the morning of July 4, 2023. There have been reports of his sightings in Winslow and at a local ranch, but he has not been located. Last seen wearing a black shirt with the word “America,” blue jeans, cowboy boots, and a cap.

In January, arrest warrants were issued to try to find digital evidence that could help the investigation, but no arrests have been made.

“Over the past 366 days, our detectives have received countless tips and reports of Jarrett. Each of these leads and tips have been followed up with no conclusive results in determining what happened to Jarrett,” authorities said in a social media post Thursday.

The sheriff's office reminds the public that the investigation is ongoing and says it is working cooperatively with the Brooks family.

“Jarrett is a son, brother, grandson, nephew and friend,” Navajo County Sheriff’s officials said. “He is missed by his family, friends and community.”
