Authorities recover body of missing fisherman from Toledo Bend Lake | WNTZ-TV FOX 48

SABINE PARISH, La. (WNTZ) – Authorities in Texas and Louisiana have found the body of a missing fisherman after an extensive search on Toledo Bend Lake. The fisherman, identified as John “Buddy” Martin Jr., 64, of Joaquin, Texas, was last seen on the evening of June 8, 2024, while leaving Huxley Bay, Texas, in a small aluminum boat.

Martin's disappearance sparked a joint search effort by the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries and Texas Parks & Wildlife. The search focused on the northern portion of Toledo Bend Lake. Despite their efforts, no contact had been made with Martin since his departure.

On the evening of June 10, 2024, the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries reported that Martin's body, along with his boat, was found near the Jolly Rogers Marina in the northeast area of ​​the lake. Toledo Bend.
