Authorities identify driver whose SUV drove through Boston intersection on I-93 ramp – Boston 25 News

BOSTON — Police have identified the driver involved in a fatal crash in which an SUV drove through a barrier at a Boston intersection and onto a freeway ramp.

Casey Brown, 31, of Plymouth, was driving on the Massachusetts Avenue Connector toward Frontage Road in his 2004 Dodge Durango Wednesday morning when his Durango struck a concrete barrier and burst into flames, according to state police.

The SUV then drove through the barrier and came to rest on the I-93 Exit 16 ramp. Brown was pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel. No other injuries were reported.

Video taken by a drone shows the charred aftermath of the collision.

Several ramps at the I-93 and I-90 interchanges were closed for several hours.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation by Massachusetts State Police Troop H, State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section , the State Police Crime Scene Services Section and investigators from the Suffolk County Prosecutor's Office.
