Authorities identify cyclist killed in crash near CSULB • Long Beach Post News

A 42-year-old man riding a bicycle who was fatally struck by a vehicle in Long Beach was identified today.

The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner's Office identified the victim as Keith Moore.

Officers were dispatched to the area of ​​Seventh Street and Bellflower Boulevard around 5:05 a.m. Friday, according to the Long Beach Police Department.

“Officers discovered an unconscious adult bicyclist lying on the south sidewalk of Seventh Street,” according to a statement from the LBPD.

The man died at the scene, police said.

“The preliminary investigation revealed that the cyclist was traveling eastbound on the third lane of Seventh Street when he was struck from behind by a vehicle that was also traveling eastbound in lane three,” according to the LBPD.

The driver remained on scene and cooperated with officers, police said.

“At this time, neither speed, distracted driving, nor impaired driving are believed to be factors in the collision,” LBPD said.
