At least 6 people injured after North Philadelphia shooting, police say – NBC10 Philadelphia

Five people were injured after a shooting in North Philadelphia Wednesday afternoon, police said.

Around 6:22 p.m., police were called to the 2800 block of N. Bambrey Street for multiple people shot, police said.

When police arrived, they found two women with gunshot wounds to the legs. They were taken to hospital and listed in stable condition.

At that time, three people, a woman and two men, arrived at the hospital in private vehicles. Their condition is also stable, police said.

A sixth victim, a 16-year-old girl, present at the scene approached the police and stated that she thought she had been hit by a bullet. She was taken to hospital with a graze wound to her stomach.

The adults are believed to be aged between 19 and 43, Police Chief Inspector Scott Small said.

Small said the six victims were standing on the sidewalk when a dark-colored four-door sedan stopped, heading east on Somerset Street, and perhaps three men got out. It was then that 17 shots were fired into a crowd where the six victims were shot and the shooter(s) got back into the vehicle.

Most of the victims live in the 2800 block of Bambrey Street, Small said.

The three men were last seen getting back into the vehicle and heading east on Somerset Street, according to police. The sedan has some sort of yellow tape or plastic securing the rear trunk, Small said. Police helicopters are currently searching for this vehicle.

Real-time crime cameras captured the incident as well as private cameras in the area.

SkyForce10 is above the scene where footage of police blocking traffic on a street can be seen. Police officers could also be seen entering one of the houses on the street.
