At least 1 dead, 5 others injured after shooting at mass rally in Dayton

UPDATE at 3:58 a.m.

At least one person is dead and five others were injured after a shooting at a large gathering in Dayton.

We're making calls to find out more and will have the latest with News Center 7's Kayla McDermott on site during News Center 7's Daybreak show starting at 4:25 a.m.

Dayton police officers and medics were dispatched to the area of ​​Home and Euclid avenues around 12:50 a.m. after reports of a shooting, according to Montgomery County regional dispatch.

Photos and video show officers blocked Euclid Avenue.

Dayton Police Sgt. Creigee Coleman told News Center 7's Kayla McDermott there was a large gathering when the shooting happened.

He said numerous shell casings had been found and officers would be investigating throughout the night and morning.

Coleman said officers were investigating three locations on Home, Euclid and Gordon avenues.

The Dayton Homicide Unit is also on scene investigating.

Several victims were taken to hospital, some are in stable condition, according to Coleman.

Dayton police officers and medics were dispatched to the area of ​​Home and Euclid avenues around 12:50 a.m. after reports of a shooting, according to Montgomery County regional dispatch.

Dispatchers told News Center 7 there was also an active scene on Gordon Avenue.
