Arrests against Springfield officer who shot suspects

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – The two adults who were arrested in connection with the shooting of a Springfield police officer last week will be arraigned Monday afternoon.

Three of the seven suspects were arrested on Friday. These suspects were Isak Font, Alberto Torres and Jamie Griffin. They were all held without bail and are due back in court on June 13.


The two suspects expected in court Monday are 18 years old. Robert Willis and 26 years old Dwight Clarke. Youths aged 16 and 17 were also arrested and the Commonwealth plans to try them as adults.

According to the Hampden County Prosecutor's Office, five of the suspects have previously been arrested on gun-related charges. This all comes after Officer Nestor Santos was shot in the face and leg Wednesday night while on his way to work. He is currently recovering in a Boston hospital.
