Arrest made in deadly Mooretown shooting; victim identified | Deadliest zip codes

SHREVEPORT, La. – Authorities arrested Ledonald Sanders, 40, for 2nd degree murder. He is accused in the shooting death of a man Monday evening in the 3600 block of Hollywood Avenue in Shreveport.

Shreveport Police Department detectives worked through the night and tracked the suspect to an address in the 700 block of Firwood Road in Haughton. The Bossier Parish Sheriff's Office SWAT team responded Tuesday and executed an arrest warrant for Sanders.

“During the investigation, 26 firearms were seized, which highlights the seriousness of this matter and the dedication of our law enforcement teams. We are very grateful to our partners at BPSO,” said Chief Wayne Smith.

Meanwhile, the Caddo Parish Coroner's Office has identified the victim in this case. He is Breyone Grimes, 37, of Shreveport.

The murder is the 31st in the city in 2024 and occurred in the 71109 ZIP code.
