Arrest made in connection with Revere Stop and Shop shooting – Boston News, Weather, Sports

REVERSE, MASS. (WHDH) – Everett police arrested an individual Tuesday in connection with an apparent shooting outside a Stop and Shop supermarket in Revere.

“At approx. Tonight at 10:30 p.m., @everettpolicema assisted Revere Police on Clarence St in our town in apprehending a suspect in an earlier incident in the town of Revere where shots were fired,” the chief wrote Everett Police Department Steve Mazzie on X, formerly Twitter. “The subject was taken into custody without incident.”

Sources confirmed to 7News that the subject of Mazzie's message was the previous incident at Stop and Shop.

The alleged shooting was filmed by a car parked nearby. In the video, the driver of an SUV gets out of his car and pushes a man in a white shirt. Then witnesses say he shot her.

The victim backed up before the driver and another person got into the SUV before it backed up.

Witnesses say they heard the gunshot and called the police. Officers responded to the scene and closed the supermarket while they investigated.

Stephanie Cunha, a spokeswoman for Stop and Shop, called the apparent shooting an unfortunate incident and said those involved were cooperating with police.

“The safety of our associates and customers is a top priority for us, and we are grateful to local law enforcement and first responders for their quick response,” Cunha said.
