Arrest made for stabbing homicide

SPRINGFIELD, IL – UPDATE – On June 1, 2024, detectives with the Springfield Police Department made an arrest in connection with the homicide that occurred in the 3000 block of Louise Lane. Julie E. Marshall, 41, of Springfield, was arrested on charges of first-degree murder and unlawful use of a weapon.

Marshall is currently being held in the Sangamon County Jail, awaiting formal charges filed by the Sangamon County State's Attorney's Office.
