Arrest made following road rage shooting in Henrico County

HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — A Chesterfield County man has been arrested in Henrico County in connection with a road rage shooting that occurred Friday morning.

Officers were called to Gaskins Road near the Interstate 64 interchange for reports of a shooting around 10 a.m. on Friday, June 21.

Officers were able to locate a suspect and arrested Kenneth Neal Reynolds, 30, of Chesterfield. Reynolds now faces a charge of malicious shooting or throwing missiles at a car.

No one was injured in the shooting.

According to Morgan Dean, spokesperson for AAA Mid-Atlantic, similar road rage incidents have occurred more frequently over the years.

“Nationally, in 2022, according to the group Everytown for Gun Safety, 554 people were shot in road rage incidents nationwide, resulting in 413 injuries and 141 deaths. That’s double the number seen in 2018,” Dean said.

Dean recommends that drivers move over if they are dealing with an aggressive driver and do their best not to engage.

“If you really feel this is life-threatening, get off the road, come to a public place, a police station, a fire station, a busy grocery store, where this person is less likely to target you, let -leave her. on the way,” Dean said.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to contact Henrico police at 804-501-5000.
