Arrest made after victim stabbed in the head in Asheville

A man was arrested this week after a victim was stabbed in the head in Asheville.

According to a release from the Asheville Police Department (APD), officers responded to the 200 block of Riverside Drive around 7:21 a.m. on June 4 for a report of a stabbing.

When they arrived on scene, they located a man “suffering from stab wounds to the head.”

The suspect has already fled.

The victim was taken to Mission Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, Asheville police said.

APD identified Alix Lemaire Romain, 43, as a suspect and issued arrest warrants for him. Romain was located and taken into custody on Wednesday afternoon, June 5. He was charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to inflict serious injury and carrying a concealed weapon.

Romain was booked into the Buncombe County Detention Center under a $5,500 secured bond.
