Arrest after man found stabbed near pub

A man has been arrested following a stabbing in Redditch.

West Mercia Police said a man believed to have been stabbed was found seriously injured on Evesham Road, near Park Inn Public House, at 8.40pm BST on Friday.

Officers then arrested an 18-year-old man on suspicion of assault causing grievous bodily harm.

The victim was taken to hospital, his life being in danger, his condition remains critical.

Detective Sergeant Theresa Vaughan said: “Although we have one person arrested in connection with this incident, we would like to appeal to any witnesses who may have information to help us piece together what happened.

“A police presence will remain at the scene for some time while investigations are carried out, but there does not appear to be any further threat to the general public.”
