Armed robbery and shooting with teenage victim carries 25-year sentence

Ramier Bender, formerly of Salisbury, Maryland, was sentenced to 25 years in prison for armed robbery and use of firearms in commission of a crime of violence on June 21. What happened in an incident involving a teenage victim

The defendant, along with several associates, planned an armed robbery on an underage victim that occurred on December 11, 2021. Bender arranged a meeting with the victim at Bender's home, the District Attorney's Office said. State of Wicomico County in a news release. release.

When the victim arrived, Bender and his accomplices, one of whom was armed with a pistol, demanded the victim's backpack. “This was a difficult case to prosecute, but I am grateful for the hard work of the Wicomico County Sheriff's Office, my team and the courageous witnesses who cooperated and were willing to do their part to ensure that justice be served,” the Wicomico County state official said. SA Dykes commended the lead investigator, Detective Oakley of the Wicomico County Sheriff's Office, for his persistence in the investigation and prosecution of this case. Dykes also praised Senior Assistant State's Attorney Lauren Bourdon, who prosecuted the case.
