The man allegedly threatened another person with a shotgun before barricading himself in an RV at Cherry Knolls Park, the Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office said.

CENTENNIAL, Colo. — The Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office is on the scene of a barricade involving an armed man in the parking lot of a Centennial Park Friday morning.

Deputies responded around 7:12 a.m. to the parking lot near the 6900 block of South Elizabeth Street for a report of a man armed with a shotgun who had threatened another person. It's near East Arapahoe Road and South University Boulevard.

Authorities are trying to make contact with the man, barricaded in a camper attached to a truck, the sheriff's office said.

There may also be additional people in the RV, according to the sheriff's office.

South Elizabeth Street is closed at South Elizabeth Circle, South Columbine Way and East Easter Avenue. The sheriff's office asked people to avoid the area.

This is a developing story and will be updated as information is confirmed.
