Arkansas man sentenced to prison for child pornography

A 32-year-old Arkansas man will now spend more than three decades in federal prison for distributing child pornography.

JACKSONVILLE, Ark — An Arkansas man will now spend the next 35 years in federal prison for distributing child pornography. He was also sentenced to life supervised release.

According to reports, earlier this year, Jessie Michael Collins, 32, of Jacksonville, pleaded guilty to two counts of distributing child pornography.

Collins was previously facing a state charge for possession of these materials and was indicted on April 5, 2023, on two counts of distribution.

An investigation into Collins showed he used an online chat app where he discussed child sexual exploitation with others on the platform. Apart from this, he also received, viewed and shared sexually explicit photos of minors with other members of the group.

The maximum sentence he faced was a minimum of five years and a maximum of 20 years in prison for each count, as well as a fine of $250,000.
