Argument near 31st Street beach leads to shooting, stabbing – NBC Chicago

A woman with a valid concealed weapons permit shot and stabbed a teenage girl late Saturday night near 31st Street Beach in Chicago, authorities said.

The incident happened around 11:34 p.m. in the 3000 block of South Fort Dearborn Drive. Police say a 17-year-old girl and a 26-year-old woman got into an argument when the teen stabbed the woman in the right arm with a sharp object.

The 26-year-old man, who has a concealed carry permit and a firearms owner's identification card, pulled out a gun and fired shots, hitting the teen in the shoulder left, police said. The 26-year-old man was transported to a local hospital and appears to be in good condition.

The teenager was taken to hospital where she was treated and released. She was then taken into custody, police said.
