Argument led to man stabbed to death in New Haven

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — A man was stabbed to death after an altercation in New Haven this morning, police say.

At 1:09 a.m., the New Haven Police Department was notified by Yale Protective Services at Raphael Hospital that a man had arrived with a gunshot wound. It is later determined that the man was not shot, but stabbed.


Police say he was dropped off at the hospital by a private vehicle. The deceased is Travis James, 47, a resident of New Haven. James was in critical condition and later died in hospital.

The investigation revealed earlier in the night that James had been involved in an altercation at Sam's Mart on Whalley Ave. when it intensified and he was stabbed.

The search is currently underway for the man pictured below. He is wanted for questioning in this homicide.
