Archuleta County coroner identifies woman shot near Pagosa Springs – The Durango Herald

The Colorado Bureau of Investigation says the victim was hit by multiple bullets

A 39-year-old woman who was shot and killed earlier this week outside her home near Pagosa Springs has been identified as Chrystal Snow.

Archuleta County Coroner Brad Hunt confirmed Snow's identity Wednesday.

The Colorado Bureau of Investigation, which is overseeing the investigation, said in a news release that an autopsy was performed Wednesday morning and revealed that Snow suffered multiple gunshot wounds.

Neither the CBI nor the county coroner would provide further details about the shooting death, including the location of the gunshot wounds.

The CBI called the incident a “targeted shooting,” adding that officers had identified “persons of interest” but no arrests had been made as of Wednesday afternoon.

“Investigators do not believe there is an active threat to the public,” the statement said.

Authorities were notified of the shooting shortly after 2:20 a.m. Tuesday, when the victim called 911 from her home in the 1000 block of County Road 700 west of Pagosa Springs. Officers arrived and found Snow dead outside her home with multiple gunshot wounds.

Investigators believe Snow called 911 just before he succumbed to his injuries, due to the nature of the open line dispatchers heard when they answered the phone.

The CBI declined to provide further details about the alleged persons of interest.
