Another “Gilbert Goon” arrested after his conviction

A second Gilbert Goon was arrested shortly after his conviction for an unrelated assault – this time as part of two criminal investigations, police said.

Gilbert police said Deleon Haynes, 19, is charged with seven counts stemming from different investigations. The same month, he was sentenced on June 3 to three years of supervised probation for his role in an assault on August 18, 2023, at an In-N- facility. Out Burger in Gilbert.

Previously, Jacob Pennington was arrested and booked into the Gilbert-Chandler Unified Detention Center on June 13 and charged with minor consumption of alcohol, a class 2 misdemeanor. This occurred the same day he was sentenced for his role in an assault that occurred in December 2022 at the Gilbert In-N-Out.

In Haynes' first case, from June 12, a Gilbert landlord claimed Haynes came to their residence, where he had previously lived but had been evicted, and engaged in an argument with a minor with whom he had previously been in a relationship.

Haynes admitted to officers that he entered the home and argued with the juvenile, according to police.

Haynes was arrested and charged with one count of criminal trespass, a class 6 felony and a misdemeanor count of domestic violence, one count of disorderly conduct, a misdemeanor class 1 misdemeanor and one count of domestic violence, and one count of disorderly conduct, a class 1 misdemeanor, police said. .

In the second incident on June 21, a minor victim reported to officers that Haynes allegedly made verbal threats to her and a family member, police said.

Haynes was arrested and processed at the Gilbert-Chandler Unified Detention Center on one count of using an electronic communication to terrify, intimidate, threaten or harass, a class 1 misdemeanor, and misdemeanor domestic violence; one count of using an electronic communication to terrify, intimidate, threaten or harass, a class 1 misdemeanor; one count of disturbing the peace, a class 1 misdemeanor, and a misdemeanor count of domestic violence; and one count of disorderly conduct, a class 1 misdemeanor, police said.

Haynes appeared in Gilbert Municipal Court in connection with the second case and is being held on bond by the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office. Additionally, Haynes was indicted on felony and misdemeanor charges related to the June 12 case as well as a probation violation.
