Angel Reese fined for missing post-match interviews

The rookie player was fined $1,000 for failing to answer questions following their 71-70 loss to the Fever. As previously reported by The Shade Room, the Chi Barbie earns $73,439 per year. However, she earns additional money through sponsorship deals.

Additionally, the Chicago Sky must pay $5,000 for failing to make Reese comply with the post-game interview rule.

It is unclear why Angel declined to be interviewed. During the match, Chennedy Carter brutally checked Caitlin's shoulder, sending her to the floor. She received a flagrant foul of 1 for contact.

Angel reportedly jumped off the bench and clapped after Carter made a brutal move. Later in the match, Reese got physical with Caitlin. Reese swung his arm across her, hitting Clark and knocking her to the ground. No foul was called, much to the dismay of No. 22.

Chennedy responds to criticism after blatant foul

After the match, Chennedy refused to discuss the incident with reporters, stating: “I'm not answering any questions from Caitlin Clark.” She later took to Instagram to express that she doesn't care about social media criticism.

“I grew up with all the brothers. All we did was fight and argue,” Carter wrote. “I love hate more than love, which you don’t understand. I'd rather you hate me [than] love me and I will tell my deceased aunt.

As The Shade Room reported, Indiana Fever general manager Lin Dunn believes Clark is a “target.” She took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share her thoughts. “There is a difference between tough defense and useless targeting actions! » she wrote. Dunn said the gross mistakes “[need] Stop.”

However, Caitlin isn't the only rookie to take a beating. When Sky played against the Connecticut Suns, Reese fell to the ground after Alyssa Thomas made contact with her neck. The LSU graduate lay on the ground for a minute, dazed. Once up, she grabs her lower back.

During the post-match interview, Angel said she didn't expect the veterans to play nice with her.

The WNBA is pretty spicy this season. We'll keep you posted on all the drama on the ground!
